    About/FAQ

The data, maps, and charts contained on this minisite were gathered and generated in preparation for a two day exploratory meeting around possibilities for a Governance Data Alliance on April 1516 2014, organized by Global Integrity and the Millennium Challenge Corporation. The source data that comprise the materials on this minisite were gathered from participants attending the meeting. While certainly not a representative sample, these data provide an interesting set of insights into historic, current, and future possibilities and constraints vis a vis improved coordination in the production and use of “governance” data, generously defined. For a full description of the gathering please review this blog post.

The Map feature of this minisite offers a quick glance at the historic and anticipated future coverage gaps and redundancies in the production of various governance data. The Future Production Costs page provides a glimpse into anticipated production cost increases on a per product and aggregate basis. Historic Investments offers insights into the rough amounts various funders and donors have invested into a range of governance data research products. Constraints offers an interesting comparison of the respective challenges that governance data producers, users, and enablers perceive in the context of their current and future work.
